Tips for running a smooth draft with FanDraft

  1. MOCK DRAFT! MOCK DRAFT! MOCK DRAFT!
With so many customizable features available, it's easy to accidentally setup your league the wrong way. It also takes some time to get used to the Draft Board interface, and what is all available. That's why you should practice!
Once you start a league, click on START A NEW DRAFT. Run through a few rounds and make sure everything is working properly. Don't worry, when your official draft comes around, all you have to do is click the "START A NEW DRAFT!" button again, and it will reset your last (mock) draft to begin from scratch.
  2. CONTINUE YOUR DRAFT, DON'T GIVE UP!
If your computer crashes during your draft, no big deal at all.
Just re-open FanDraft, and select "Draft > Continue Draft",
then click on the "Continue Draft" button.
You will continue right where you left off.
  3. Rank your players
Everyone has different opinions on how players should be ranked, and we let you set your own.
To do this: "Player Maintenance > Edit Player Information". Use the up and down arrows to re-rank the players. Use the "Move to top" icon to move a player all the way up the ranks.
  4. Customize FanDraft
There are endless possibilities to display the board to your exact liking. There are multiple display views during the draft, and even ways to customize these views. You can customize these settings in the "Preferences" section, as well as during the draft.
  5. Adjust the ticker speed
You can adjust the ticker speed by utilizing the speed slider on the left hand corner of the ticker. Don't be confused by the "Board Speed" slider (on the top of the draft board), that adjusts the speed of the Player Board display.
  6. Adjust the FanDraft screen to its full potential
FanDraft will always appears on top of your other programs, but it doesn't always start off fully maximized. Adjust the window size by click-dragging the corners.
  7. Make sure your version is up-to-date
We are occasionally adding updates to insure increased stability, and added functionality. To see the current version, you can click here.
To see what version you are using: "Help > About". Your version will be displayed here.
  8. My computer crashed during the draft, what do I do?
Easy. FanDraft is automatically saving all of your data during a draft. Just CONTINUE draft, and you're right where you left off.
To do this: "Draft > Continue Draft". Then select the CONTINUE DRAFT button. Be sure NOT to start a new draft though
  9. Know the in-draft controls
Player Queue : You can select a player by clicking on his name (on the Player Board), but the easier way is to just TYPE IN THE NAME INTO THE QUEUE. After two letters your player name will just pop-up. This is a real time saver!
    Team on the Fly(TOF):
If you need to make a quick change of the current team selecting, utilize this option.
Player on the Fly(POF): If there is a player missing from the available pool, and you need to quick add, use this button.
Edit Selections: If you ever make an error, you can always correct it with this option.
Clock controls: In the clock panel there are icons to pause, reset, and edit the clock.
Ticker Speed: The slider on the left of the ticker quickens/slows the ticker speed.
Player Information (web) : If you right-click on a player (in the Player Board Display) it will open their informational page (via NFL.com) on the internet.
  10. CONTINUE YOUR DRAFT, DON'T GIVE UP!
    (YES WE REPEATED THIS INTENTIONALLY!)
If your computer crashes during your draft, no big deal at all.
Just re-open FanDraft, and select "Draft > Continue Draft", then click on the "Continue Draft" button.
